Content Channels are Structured Differently than Before Publishing on LinkedIn can be a great way to create awareness for your business or personal brand.īut I noticed some important changes to the platform that you may want to be aware of and also wanted to share a few lessons learned from publishing on LinkedIn.ġ. I took a break for awhile because I was busy with other things, but I’m planning on continuing soon. I managed to get one out of three posts featured in a content channel, resulting in hundreds of new followers and even subscribers to my blog. Soon after, I started publishing my own articles on LinkedIn. It is one of the most popular posts on my blog with over 3,000 social shares. However, today when I checked, the archive was ready for download, and I was also able to download the CSV contact data.Last year, I published a study on how top LinkedIn publishers are getting featured on the Pulse. I never received any response to my archive request, nor any separate notification regarding the restoration of CSV download (which I read about in the Forbes article, above). Of course, I've requested the "archive," and hopefully within 72 hours I will learn whether I still have access to useful information for managing my personal contacts. This helps me identify folks who've changed jobs, job titles, email address, or even their names.
I generally download my connections data once every 60-90 days to merge into my master contact list.
I don't consider this to be outrageous or absurd, in part because I've certainly received my share of spam from folks who download connection data and then sell or share it with bad folks.īut it is inconvenient.
